Florida Aquarium and Downtown St. Pete

On Friday morning Gina and I headed back over to Tampa to visit the Florida Aquarium.  What a fun time!  The only downside was the noise level and running around activity while the school groups were there.  After they left it was nice and peaceful!

This is the drive along Bayshore Blvd. This sidewalk is 4.5 miles in length and is considered one of the world's longest continuous sidewalks.

This is the Academy of the Holy Names (AHN) on Bayshore.  Two of my daughters attended the AHN in Albany while we were living there.
The Channelside shopping area, right next to the Florida Aquarium.
Standing in the shadow of a GIANT sting ray!
Go Gators!
How cute!
He's giving Gina a kiss . . .
The lights kept changing colors as the jellyfish were moving around.  I am planning another post on the shots from the Aquarium with more.
Under the sea . . .
Beam me up Scottie

Ahhhh, what's life in Florida without a pink flamingo?
Candygram . . .

The downside . . .

We were in the mood for "vacation tropical" so we went to Cha Cha Coconuts on the Pier in downtown St. Pete.

My citrus chicken with bananas and mangoes.
Gina's pork chop.

Eat your heart out, Aunt Linda!

Just desserts!!!

Gotta love those Foster Grants!

Alas, the end to a FUN visit!!!

HI!

I actually just ran into your blog after browsing TampaBLAB out of boredom.

YOUR SCENIC PICTURES are very good! I haven't been to the Florida Aquarium yet and I keep kicking myself over it b/c I think it's the one "tourist spot" in the bay area I haven't been to yet. Apparantly all the school children beat me to it...

agree with the other poster/commenter here--your photos are excellent! You capture the fun of Florida. It is so pretty there--the sunshine is a particular color that is so recognizable. I like how much you appreciate your surroundings. Thanks for sharing your visits/experiences.
