Happy New Year! 2010!

I've been hanging around the apartment, doing odds and ends. I put my garbage out in the alley and walked to the mailbox. On my way back I decided to walk around to the front of the apartment building and come in that way. There was a package at the front door, addressed to me. It had a sticker on top, "Contains Ice Cream". My first thought was "How long has this been sitting out here?"!!!
I carried it into the kitchen and tore it open. A Christmas gift from Joe and Joy. Just what I wanted! What a surprise! More for me to eat!!!

Sunset Beach & North Shore Park

After a leisurely morning, and since the day was warming up nicely into the low 70s, I decided to take a ride over to the beach. It was sunny and warm. Seems like a lot of snow birds are in town.
Saw these dead crabs on the beach when I first walked out there.

This is the beach near Caddy's.

Frosty is still hangin' out there.

As I was walking back to my car, I noticed this egret in the courtyard.

After stopping at Publix on Treasure Island to pick up a couple of things, I headed over to North Shore Park to relax some more and enjoy the surroundings.

The sun was going down. This is around 5:00 pm.

I fixed myself some leftover angel hair and broccoli for dinner.

Day 3 - Visit with the Girls

Monday morning coming down . . .
We went to visit the branch where I work so that the girls could meet all the great people I work with, and so that my co-workers could meet my girls! It was a fun visit. From there we headed over to Mazzaro's for lunch. It was Adeles first time there. It was pretty busy, but we enjoyed our lunch and dessert too!

Then we headed up to Target to do a little shopping. On our way back to my apartment we drove through Roser Park. There was some construction going on so we had to take a little detour thru the park. It was still a sight to see!

Our portrait shot before parting. It seems like the time flew by in an instant!
These are a few shots I copied from Adele's camera.

The Girls Visit - Day 2

Sunday has been a laid back kind of day. The girls went to church in the AM. We snacked a little when they got back, and watched Galaxy Quest.

There's no place like home . . . There's no place like home . . . There's no place like home . . .

I got a turkey breast from the Honey Baked Ham store. YUM! I got their garlic mashed potatoes too! Adele made a sweet potato mash (double yummy!) And I concocted a baked apple "cobbler".

Wayne joined us for dinner. We relaxed after dinner (sort of like another food coma). We watched Harry Potter 6. Later we went downtown to see the lights. These were taken in North Straub Park in downtown St. Petersburg.

Gina called this "Candy Cane Lane".

Adele was caught kissing Rudolph and Mia was caught kissing Buddy.

Since Santa was MIA, the girls took over his sleigh.

Then it was my turn.

We took this picture in front of the tree in my living room. AS IF! We ducked into the Vinoy for this one.
