Sunny With a Chance of Smoke

Brush fires burning in the northern part of Florida resulted in a smokey morning here in Tampa Bay.  News reports stated that over 25,000 acres have burned west of Jacksonville.

This is the view from the front of my apartment, looking east towards Tampa Bay.

This shot is looking north towards Coffee Pot Bayou.
Caught some new blossoms on the way.

The bridge to Snell Isle over Coffee Pot Bayou.
Looking across to Snell Isle.
Saw this Mama and her babies in the Bayou.

A nice way to begin the day.
On our morning walks we usually see this workout class of moms.
Last weekend was the Funk Fest.  Here preparations are being made for this weekend's Blues Festival.  Next weekend is the Main Sail Arts Festival.  Busy time of year in Vinoy Park!

I'm glad I don't have to do this to clean the windshield on my VW Rabbit!
Grayl's Hotel is undergoing major   renovations.

This tree is next to the Museum of Fine Arts.  The red flowers are all gone.

View from my seat outside of Starbucks.

Grayl's Hotel again.

Jedi masters.

I cannot control myself.  I had close to 18,000 photos on my computer and I'm in the process of whittling that number down.  Got around 15,000 now.  And here I go, adding more!

Early April Morning Walk

Another beautiful morning for a walk. I decided to take my camera with me since I've been seeing a lot of shots I'd like to capture on my recent walks.

This lawn looks like a carpet.
We had some thunder storms come through last night, so the soil was pretty moist and the foliage had dew on it.  The storms last night knocked my power out about 5 times.  Would go out momentarily, then come back on.  Longest out was about 3 minutes. Thought maybe I'd be taking my shower by candlelight!

This is the pergola near the Vinoy.

This group of bicyclist are usually having their coffee at this time.

One of the alleys.  I'd like to do a photo essay of the "Alleys of Old Northeast" someday!

Jacaranda is a little past peak.  Interesting peak in the roof over the front door.

Interesting "berries"!
There are so many different colors of the berries.

Yard Sale Lollapalooza

Today was the semi-annual Crescent Lake Yard Sale.  I took a walk this morning over to the park, stopping on my way for a coffee and breakfast sandwich at Panera.

I had a spot at this sale a couple years ago.

On my way back I headed south towards 11th Ave North to pick up a map for the Old Northeast Yard Sale which was being held at the same time.  I passed these two structures which I don't recall seeing before.  Either I never walked on this block, or I'm getting more forgetful with old age.  As my Nana use to say, getting "hardening of the art-trees".

I stopped by only a handful of the sales.  But, I'm not much of a yard sailor, so I headed home for an iced tea.  I figure I have enough garbage of my own.
