Easter Weekend 2012

Saturday was Wayne's birthday.   In the afternoon we went for a short walk over to Sunken Gardens to check it out.  I bought a family membership via Groupon or Lovingsocial (I forget which).

 

We had dinner at Moscato's on Central Avenue in downtown St. Pete.  Delicious homemade pasta's and sauce.

I had the eggplant parm and Wayne had Penne bake with chicken.

After dinner we had "birthday" desserts from Mazzaro's.  Chocolate decadent cake and chocolate 'egg' cake.

We spent Easter afternoon in Bradenton with Linda and Louie and Carol and Steve.  Dinner was delicious!

I received a surprise delivery today!  I have a big smile on my face!  Thank you Wayne!

I put them in the wine decanter that Wayne made for me for Christmas.  Thought it could serve a dual purpose!  Heading up to Clearwater tonight to meet Wayne for dinner.

Tradition - Maybe a New One?

I put my tree up in early December.  My tradition is to have "It's A Wonderful Life" playing as I decorate it.  I've decided that I need a tradition movie for when I take the tree down.  I was thinking of something having to do with the beginning of the year, or new beginnings, or something like that.  The movie that came to mind is one that I don't own - "You Can't Take it With You".  I like watching it whenever I can when it's on TCM.  Like Wonderful Life, it was also directed by Frank Capra and it won Best Picture and Best Director in 1938 (8 years before Wonderful Life).  But, because I didn't have it, I watched second best:  Big Business!

And I'm not sure what was going on this year.  Either my tree was the freshest of any I've ever had, and didn't shed a single needle, or all the needles dropped and disintegrated.  Anyhow, my tree is down and so are all the holiday decorations.  2012:  bring it!

Welcome 2012!

Said goodbye to 2011 and hello to 2012 in a quiet manner.  Champagne toast, and pizza by Wayne.  Toggled back and forth between Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin and Dick Clark's RNYE.

We went to a New Year's Day party at Alan's.  Loving the ability to party outside.

January 1st turned out to be a beautiful day!

Thanksgiving Feast 2011

Linda and Louie celebrated their first Thanksgiving in Florida in their new condo.  Wayne and I  joined them.  And Sandy and Mike came up from Marcos Island.  So the six of us had a fun time!

We had a fun time playing "Shut the Box" We played a dollar for each round.  I'm glad I won one game so that I was able to pay the $1 toll to get home over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge!

We got to Skype with Ruby and Lucas and Gabriella!  Fortunately for them, there were moms and dads and grandparents and aunts to get them logged on.  :-)
