Sunday Afternoon

It was a beautiful afternoon for a short walk.  Took a walk over to the Bay and sat under the palms on a bench.  Seems that all we saw were bladers, Segways and bicycles.  Not alot of people relaxing in the parks or walking around.  Probably decided to stay in the A/C.

On Saturday night we met some friends for dinner at Hamburger Mary's and then went to the m.a.d. Theatre production of Hairspray at the Ybor Campus of Hillsborough Community College.  They did an excellent job  as evidenced by the audience response.

This was the scene along Bayshore Drive in Tampa, on our way over to Ybor City.  It got a bit scary because of construction cones all over the place.











Sunday afternoon we headed down to the Flamingo Resort to join Pete (and Joe) at his softball team's fundraiser.  He plays for the Tampa Bay Tough Guys and they are headed to Chicago for the World Series.  Enjoyed the jello shots!

Mia Visit Day 5/ Adele Gina Visit Day 3

Mia and I started the day with a walk over to the Bay and then headed down towards the beach.

It was a beautiful morning but that sun was VERY warm, and you could feel the humidity more today.

 OK, Dad!  Enough!

Kind of like getting all your duckies in a row?  The  queue to see 'Captain America' at BayWalk stretched all the way to the North Shore Beach.

Tonight we waited out the passing thundershower, played "Fact or Crap" and ate cookies.  Now my place seems very empty again.  

Ybor City and Georgie's

Louie dropped Linda, Ray and Iz off at my place around noon today and we initially headed down to the Dali Museum.  The place was crowded, parking lot full, so we headed over to Ybor. 

We went to the visitors' center first and watched the short film about the history of Ybor City and then walked along 7th Avenue up to the Columbia restaurant where we had lunch.  The place was busy, but the food and service was great!  I had the mahi mahi.

Headed back to St. Pete with full tummies.  We hung around my apartment until Louie came back after spending the afternoon with his cousin Bobby who is visiting St Pete on vacation.  Pete and Joe came over we all walked out together.  The gang, to head back to Bradenton, and Pete and Joe and I to head over to the Greek Festival at St. Stefanos for some Greek food and then over to Georgie's to meet Steve and hang out.

August is Drawing to a Close

On Saturday afternoon, I went with Joe and Pete to the "Pride on 7th" celebration in Tampa.  When we arrived a lot of the vendors were packing up, so we just headed down to Ybor to walk around and have dinner.

Afterwards we drove over to Sunset Beach to join Michael to watch the sunset.  Unfortunately, the clouds decided to congregate there and it started raining so we made a bee line for the car.

So, we headed back to Pete's and Joe's for margaritas and pop corn and to watch The Crimson Mask

Russ, Jose and I headed over to Ybor City today to see the sights.  Jose likes the feel of the area and told Russ he could live there!  I don't think they're about to move though!
