Mia's Visit - Day 3 and Adele and Gina Join Us

Day 3 with Mia began with the beach.  Sunset Beach again today.
Working on that tan.

A relaxing mid day.

Gazing out across the Gulf.

Quiet, relaxing day at the beach.
Fun in the sand.

We stopped at Fresh Market on the way home and got spicy angel hair and asiago, tempura shrimp sushi, and couscous with artichoke and olives.
Adele and Gina joined us around 3 PM.  Our sofa pose . . . we had some snacks before heading over to the Trop for the Rays/Yankees game.

At the gate.

Nobody told us the Backstreet Boys were going to be here!
Got our stadium snacks and our 'free refills all night' Rays cup.

 Nice seats!
Pretty packed house!

I just commented to Gina about my first Rays game and how I snapped some photos of Evan Longoria hitting a homer.  He was at bat, and I thought, who knows.  And I caught him hitting a homer again.  Clip at bottom of post.
A Rays fan amongst my Yankee loving daughters.  We're very inclusive.
Jeter hit a double and went on to score the only Yankee run of the night.
 The soda dash . . .
Mia was not a happy camper by about the seventh inning.
 The Gabriel Girls!  Still smiling!
It was too late to stop for gelato or frozen yogurt, so we hit up the Publix and finished the night with ice cream!  A new limited edition flavor!  And one Moose Tracks.  Yum!!!

Video made from the time lapse photos I took.

All in all . . . a FUN time!!!

Mia's Visit - Day 2

We started off today with smoothies made from vanilla yogurt, fresh strawberries and blueberries.  Then we headed up to Clearwater Beach.  Clearwater Beach is much bigger than the beach I usually go to, and has nice white sand.  It is a wide beach, and very popular with tourists, and is a popular destination for spring breaks.
We did our usual:  relax for a while, refreshed in the water, and went for a walk up to the pier (in the background here.)
Soaking up some more rays.
 Lots of people there today.
 Alongside the pier.
HELP!  That same turtle that attacked Adele is attacking Mia!

Our spot on the beach was right next to Frenchy's Rockaway Grill . . . so, what better place to go for early afternoon lunch?  Those onion strings were to die faw.
 Summer salad with grouper.

Pete and Joe invited us over for dinner.  Sweet caramelized onion gouda chicken burgers, broccoli rabe, mac and cheese and cucumber tomato salad.

In anticipation of dessert . . .
Wayne made a cherry cheesecake pie.  Another YUM!!!
It's as good as it looks!!!

Mia's Visit - A Full Day 1

Mia arrived shortly before midnight on Monday night.  It was so good to have her back in Florida for a visit, and to have her all to myself for several days!

We started Tuesday with some OJ and watermelon, then headed over to Sunset Beach on Treasure Island.  It was such a beautiful day for the beach; blue skies, a gentle breeze, refreshing water, gently rolling waves.
Setting up our homestead . . .
We went for a walk up the beach.
Doing her "Beyonce" effect . . . where does that breeze come from?
 A good beach read.

YAY!!!  I'm back in Florida!
Such a beautiful day.
Sparkling water.

Some of the beach homes we passed on our walk.

And my future retirement home . . .
[The 'eclectic' one in front, not the "high rise".]

We hung out on the beach for about 3 hours, then headed over to downtown St Pete to have lunch at the Lucky Dill.

So many choices!

A nice afternoon for a sidewalk lunch!

That's a mighty big reuben!

Thoughts of Ruby as we were having lunch!

After doing a load of beach towels and suits, we relaxed a bit, cleaned up, and then headed over to the India Grill for dinner.  So yummy!

Gotta love it!  Since I've already taken pics of the food there, I thought I would spare of all the repetition!
Sunset on the Snell Arcade building.
Reflection of the Snell Arcade Building.
We walked around downtown for a while, heading up to the Vinoy, then back down Beach Drive.

Always love the palm trees along here.
Outside the Chihuly collection.

Uh, did anyone notice this???

And, what else?  We stopped for some frozen yogurt.
These Community Banks have been appearing all over the area.  As Mia says, "Pretty Men in Black" look.  Think it's a front for some massive underground operation???
