I Can Hear the Roar of the Engines now . . .
I recorded this yesterday afternoon when the drivers were taking practice runs. I'm home today on my lunch hour, and can hear the roar of the engines in my apartment. The race is 16 blocks south of me.

Spring Break with Gina
Gina is on spring break and we got to spend a couple days together here in St. Pete. I picked her up in Orlando and we headed back to St Pete.
We picked up some things for lunch at the Fresh Market and headed to my apartment. After getting the beach gear together, we headed over to Pass-A-Grille beach. That's the Hurricane restaurant where I met Linda, Louie, Carol and Steve last Friday.
After being in that cold and snow, don't want to get a nasty burn!
Water still a bit chilly!
Beautiful day for the beach!
The Don Cesar in the near distance.
This woman was feeding the gulls and photographing them as they ate from her hand.
After resting at the apartment for a short while, we went to Fez downtown for some Moroccan fare!
Chicken and almonds in phyllo pastry with powdered sugar and cinnamon.
Gina's chicken couscous.
For dessert we headed to Paciugo on Beach Drive for our gelato. Banners are all over, welcoming visitors for the Honda Grand Prix this weekend. Going to be noisy around here for a couple of days! Lighted parade kickoff is tonight.
On Wednesday, Aunt Linda came up from Bradenton to join us for lunch at Moon Under Water.
We parked over near Vinoy Park and walked over to Beach Drive. We saw this school of fish swimming around, maybe feeding on all the minnows that were also swimming all around. Every so often one or more would jump up out of the water.
It was a beautiful day to sit out on the porch area.
Is it snowing somewhere?
Linda's luncheon special. Mulligatawny soup, chicken curry sandwich, and salad.
My feta taboule and hummus
Gina's Moon hamburger.
After lunch, we walked up to the next block to get some of the frozen yogurt at My Yogurt Caffe, which recently opened. You help yourself to filling the cups from the spigots and then can add various toppings and mixings. You pay by the ounce. Was a nice low/non fat alternative to the gelato that we usually get.

Full Moon Dude Ranch with Outings&Adventures
On Friday night, I guess you could say I was able to check off an item on my Bucket List. Except, I don't have a bucket list! I participated in the Outings & Adventures Full Moon Dude Ranch activity.
We arrived at the non-profit Horsepower for Kids early so got to take some preview pictures. Here Robert is putting up one of the Outings & Adventures banners.
Pete/Rusty and Joe/Slim before becoming bow legged.
A bevy of beauty . . .

I couldn't get a feather . . .
A 'zorse'; half horse and half zebra.
Prior to our BBQ dinner.
My plate . . . that's a baked sweet potato wrapped up there . . .
Making s'mores. Yumm!
Pete sets his marshmallows on fire . . .
Why do we look drunk here? And no alcohol before riding!
Our table: Tony, Gabby, Steve, Robert.

Moon over the pond behind the petting zoo area.
Caught these butt heads there.
On the hayride.
More hayride.
The monkey on Monkey's back. I look like a wall-eyed salmon!
On the trail along the top of Tampa Bay. Looking out over the Bay from the mud beach: the almost full moon, Courtney Campbell Causeway.
A most beautiful night to be out there!
Pete adding "bowed" to his legs.
Thanks to Robert for a GREAT activity! Let's do it again!!!

Linda and Louie and Carol and Steve
I got out of work at 1:15 on Friday and caught up with Linda and Louie at Pass-A-Grille Beach. Carol and Steve are here for the month so I got to visit with them too.
I got there just after they had finished lunch at the Brass Monkey.
We headed up the block to the Hurricane and went up to the roof to have a drink. The above picture was taken just to the right of that peak on the turret.
Looking north towards St Pete Beach.
There was a small craft market set up across the street.
It was a perfect day for the beach!
