Well, out of the ashes . . . Here is my new ride. I picked up my 2008 VW Rabbit on Friday night. It's a sweet ride. Much smoother than the Jeep! I swore I would NEVER get a new car. Never say never, eh? It is really nice. Actually the third Rabbit I have owned. Our first was in a 1976. This one has an iPod 'dock' in the center console. I got to use it on my trip to Orlando on Saturday. Adele and Mia head out west to begin the next semester at schools. It was fun getting together.

Thursday Night and Santa's Sleigh
I returned my rental car yesterday so had to walk to work today. On my way home, I walked along some streets that I hadn't been on yet. I think I found the "ultimate" Florida Christmas decoration. I was walking along 23rd Avenue N between 2nd St and 3rd St when what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a miniature sleigh and some pink flamingos and a green alligator.

Christmas Eve / Christmas Day Ramblings

Christmas Eve Greetings
Christmas Eve Farewell
I worked one of the drive thru windows this morning. It was a very slow morning, so that was good. Allowed us enough time to eat some serious cookies.
After work I drove over to the collision shop to remove my personal belongings from the Jeep. In looking at the damage, it didn't appear all that bad. Just that bent rod underneath there...
So, I got all my cassette tapes and that beach towel tucked under the seat. It was a nice ride for just over 7 and a half years.
At least it's sunny and 70 degrees. Time to put on some shorts and head outside. A nice long walk perhaps?
