Higher Education - We Grad-gee-ated!!!

Well, we had a great time at graduation. Michael, our caller, really messed with our heads! After the first 'tip' we were ready to head towards the door . . . thinking, "Did we not learn anything?" But it was all in good fun!

We got new name badges and our diplomas!

The start of the balloon crawl! There's a video posted below.

Balloon Dance

One of the 'Tips" involved keeping the balloon between your legs. One of us didn't quite make it!

A Weekend in January

The weather has gotten back to normal for this time of year; daytime highs around 70 degrees.
I picked these tangelos in Wayne's backyard on Saturday. The rose is from his yard too.

Wayne baked the two layers of the coconut cake. The cake took 3 sticks of the butter and the frosting took another 3. Did I tell you I started back at the gym last week?
Then we headed over to Rosalie's and James' wedding. I work with Rose. It was a nice celebration. Good food and lots of fun!

A bunch of my co-workers. I'm saving most of the other pictures for blackmail.

All the Single Ladies dance for Nadia!

Linda and Louie came to visit on Sunday morning. We went to Cafe Alma for brunch and then back to my apartment for conversation and coconut cake!

Wayne makes another fantastic coconut cake!

Facebook: From Retro to Fictional Character

I had a hard time with this one. Started with Bugs Bunny, one of my favorite. Decided to change it to Pee Wee. I'm fickle, what can I say?

Wayback Week on Facebook

Taking a cue from Idle Eyes and a Dormy, I thought I would post my 'way back' pic here. After seeing my three daughters posted pics, I just had to join along. I'm posting theirs here too. Where has the time gone???

And next, a visit to Just Puppies!

And lastly, over to Regal Cinemas to see The Princess and the Frog. What a fun Daddy / Daughter Date!

What's Wrong With This Picture?

Answer: It's Florida!!! The temp has been hovering in the mid 30s to low 40s for way too long now!

Wayne has been coming down sick so I spent much of the weekend flying solo. We joined some friends on Friday night at Georgie's, then some of us went to 5 Guys for dinner. Both Howard and Greg had never been to one. Note to self: Stick to 5 Guys on an afternoon, not at 9:30 at night.

On Saturday I took a look at the Gold's Gym near me. It has a nice setup, plus I can get the AARP rate. I've been wanting to get back to the gym, and I'm thinking maybe the timing is right.

I went to Publix to take advantage of the buy one / get one free offers for the week. I even picked up some meat loaf mix to make a meatloaf!

On Sunday I went to see Avatar in 3D at the Regal in Park Place. I loved the movie! I'm impressed with the world that was created on Pandora. Special effects have come a long way!

I made up my own recipe. It came out pretty good!

I also picked up these Emerald almonds as one of the BOGO specials at Publix. It's the "Cocoa Roast" with dark chocolate flavor. Had much less sodium than the other varieties. And they are yummy!

Happy Birthday Elvis!

Finally! My first post of 2010! I took my Christmas tree down on Wednesday night. Had to take one more picture before it was gone for another year.

Today was the first day we wore our Tampa Bay Lightning shirts. We'll be wearing them every Friday for the hockey season. Showing off our team spirit? Sure! Plus promoting our new Lightning credit card.
It's been so cold here lately, I feel like I'm on ice!
