A Fahrvergnugen Visit to Orlando

Well, out of the ashes . . . Here is my new ride. I picked up my 2008 VW Rabbit on Friday night. It's a sweet ride. Much smoother than the Jeep! I swore I would NEVER get a new car. Never say never, eh? It is really nice. Actually the third Rabbit I have owned. Our first was in a 1976. This one has an iPod 'dock' in the center console. I got to use it on my trip to Orlando on Saturday. Adele and Mia head out west to begin the next semester at schools. It was fun getting together.

Gotta love that pink tree! Suits a Florida Christmas!

Luke kept licking my legs! He's so funny!

Guess where we went for lunch? Plenty of good food, and room for one piece of cheesecake to share . . .

Mia wanted to get a major change haircut. Isn't this "sassy?"
We love it!

After lunch Mia had a hair appointment. She wanted something different, shorter, easier to care for, especially when wearing those knit winter hats!

Thursday Night and Santa's Sleigh

I returned my rental car yesterday so had to walk to work today. On my way home, I walked along some streets that I hadn't been on yet. I think I found the "ultimate" Florida Christmas decoration. I was walking along 23rd Avenue N between 2nd St and 3rd St when what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a miniature sleigh and some pink flamingos and a green alligator.

It was another beautiful night out there, around 70 degrees, so I took a walk to snap some shots of the flamingos and alligator and some other displays along the way.

Christmas Eve / Christmas Day Ramblings

Just some random shots. I had a very peaceful and quiet Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I talked on the phone with family and friends. It was nice to connect despite the distances.

Christmas Eve...

Christmas Day...
I'm enjoying Christmas in the summer weather.

I enjoyed seeing these 'Saratoga' umbrellas.

It was cool seeing this bocci game!

My walk led me to the Muvico theaters at Bay Walk. Went to see Sweeney Todd. Loved it. Gotta love Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. Violent. Bloody. All throats slit in full view.

Christmas Eve Greetings

I ended up going to the beach this afternoon...spent a couple hours relaxing. Took this picture using my timer. I had been planning this since November.
This Santa in the hammock is on Treasure Island. And here he is again waving good-bye as you leave Treasure Island.

Christmas Eve Farewell

I worked one of the drive thru windows this morning. It was a very slow morning, so that was good. Allowed us enough time to eat some serious cookies.

After work I drove over to the collision shop to remove my personal belongings from the Jeep. In looking at the damage, it didn't appear all that bad. Just that bent rod underneath there...

So, I got all my cassette tapes and that beach towel tucked under the seat. It was a nice ride for just over 7 and a half years.

At least it's sunny and 70 degrees. Time to put on some shorts and head outside. A nice long walk perhaps?

Adieu!
